ELLE SPEER

My silkscreen tee design is a reference to the song Birthplace by Novo Amor. The album of the same title just released a few days ago, and I really love it, so I wanted to show my appreciation for it with this. "I've drawn my birthplace." is obviously a small snippet of the lyrics, and the whale is a reference to the music video of the song. In this music video, a diver is swimming underwater next to a giant whale made out of various pieces of trash people throw in the ocean. I think the project turned out okay, but I could've done much better if I had more time to work on it. I regret using letters in my silkscreen, or at least how I wrote the letters. I think they look very sloppy and I had trouble with cutting them out. Overall, I think I did well with this. The silhouette of the blue whale doesn't look too bad.
